Numerous as the Stars (FF)
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Blue • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: If used by a Genesis Hero, exchange this card with a human Hero in deck. Cannot be negated. • Identifiers: OT, Based on Prophecy • Verse: Genesis 15:5 • Availability: Faith of our Fathers booster packs (None)

Denying Blame (G)
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Black • Ability: None • Class: none • Special Ability: Interrupt and redirect the last good enhancement played in battle (play the redirected enhancement as if it were yours, regardless of its brigade color). • Identifiers: None • Verse: Matthew 27:24 • Availability: G Deck

In a game today, we had a player play Numerous as the Stars. His opponent played Denying Blame.

How is NatS redirected? My opinion was that the opponent gets to search the deck and choose the hero. The judge ruled concurred, although he felt that ability could not be redirected because of its warning. How is this resolved?

Cards that cannot be interrupted or negated also cannot be redirected.  So this can't happen.

The Judge is correct that NatS is unaffected by Denying Blame - In order to redirect it you first have to interrupt it which NatS doesn't allow - Additionally, even if you could redirect it, because NatS has to be used by a Genesis Hero it wouldn't do anything on the EC anyway.

Thanks. Missed the "cannot be negated" since I was getting the SA told to me across the room.

How does Denying Blame actually work? Do you have to have a hero in play for it to work?

No. It's as if the EC played the enhancement, and it is read from the perspective of the player of the person who plays DB. So if your opponent plays Zeal for the Lord, and you play DB you get to choose two EC's to discard. In some instances, redirecting doesn't help. If you redirect an enhancement that says "discard all EC's in battle" you still have to do what it says.
