Immunity Question

Hey, folks:
I made a rescue attempt with a human, and my opponent blocked with Red Dragon. Now, my question is this:
Since Red Dragon is immune to human heroes, can I still rescue a Lost Soul if my offense is higher than the Red Dragon's defense, even though the Red Dragon doesn't die? My understanding is that you technically don't defeat the Red Dragon, so you can't rescue a Lost Soul even if you are winning by numbers or in an otherwise mutual destruction.
Thanks!

You are right that even if your numbers are higher than RD, you can't defeat him with a human to take a LS.
...unless you negate his immunity (mwuhahahaha)

Prof is correct. You MUST defeat the Evil Characters in some fashion in order to win the Lost Soul.
A good way to think about all the possible outcomes, is that the Heroes' primary focus is to win the battle, even if they have to sacrifice their own lives to do it (victory, mutual destruction). The Evil Characters' primary focus is to survive the battle, whether or not they kill the Hero in the process (loss, stalemate).
The two biggest exceptions to that concept are both related to special abilities: Heroes that ignore still win even though everyone survives, and Evil Characters win when everyone is removed from battle by a special ability (discard, remove, set-aside, withdraw). But just looking at it from the numbers/initiative standpoint, that general idea of how Heroes and Evil Characters "think" is a good overall way to understand how they work.

I know that if you interrupt the battle you stop immunity for a moment, and if you can kill the RD in that moment you win. What about Royal Parade "If used by royalty, interrupt the battle and ignore one Evil Character." Can you interrupt RD's immunity and then ignore him, pushing him out of battle, or does it end in a stalemate (immunity vs. ignore)?

In a scenario like that, the Ignore would insert itself in before the immunity. Thus it'd become Red Dragon's continuous initiative until the blocker either interrupted/negated the ignore, or decided to concede defeat.

So unless a L.S. is killed off or somehow prevented from being rescued the battle becomes a victory for the Hero.

Yes, or he negated the enhancement.
Contrary to popular belief, ignore does not push the evil character out of battle. Ignore basically means "evil character cannot harm the hero, and the hero cannot harm the evil character. Since the evil character is going to lose the ls, it is his endless initiative." So he can still play cards to discard your deck and stuff like that, but he can't harm your hero, and if he doesn't negate the interrupt, you win the ls. But the evil character doesn't die (mwahahahah).

Yeah, I didn't know that. I know that if you are ignored before you enter battle you can't enter battle. So I was just guessing that you automatically got kicked out. Good to know!
