Imitating Evil

Two questions about Imitating Evil.

1) When Imitating Evil becomes a generic copy of another demon, is the copy of the demon's special ability CBN because Imitating Evil is CBN?

2) If it is not, then why is Imitating Evil CBN and not CBP?

This card is a little confusing and I'm wondering how to properly play it.

Imitating Evil - "Evil Character may band to a demon. Imitating Evil becomes a generic copy of that demon. Cannot be negated."

Karius and I were discussing this before with Deafening Spirit, essentially it's because you can't negate a card becoming something else. We concluded that Spirit cannot be "negated" because as a Character it has no effect, and at best is CBI because of that. Not to mention negating a card becoming a different card opens up a whole new can of worms...
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

What does "generic copy" mean exactly? Does the special ability get copied in addition to the numbers, or just the numbers gets copied?

I think that it just replaces all identifiers that the original character had with "generic"
Some call me "Goofus"

Copy abilities aren't all that common and this is admittedly a complicated card. During testing we had to look up the REG entry multiple times and work through how Imitating Evil plays out.

Justin did a superb job with his "How to Polycarp" explanation. I'll attempt to follow his lead and do a similar write up on Imitating Evil.

**EDIT**

You can now find the comprehensive explanation here.
