Title: Ignoring enhancements

They used Reuben's Torn Clothes with Jacob to ignore brown brigade, we had Haman's Gallows active, and my teammate blocked with a Persian. 

He then played Haman's Plot and they said it couldn't target the Genesis heros because they were still ignoring the brown brigade enhancement even though the character cannot be ignored. 

This doesn't seem right to me but the current Reg seemed to support this.  If this is right then Garden Tomb hasn't really been hurt much. 

I also couldn't find a definition for cannot be ignored.

There isn't a written definition, but it's exactly what common sense would dictate it to be. Ignore abilities do not stop it from entering battle, they do not target it in battle, and they do not protect the ignoring character from it.

Your opponent was correct that RTC can still Ignore Brown Enhancements even if their played on a Character who cannot be Ignored. However, TGT specifies that it Ignores Characters meeting certain requirements, not the entire Brigade, so a TGT Character has no shield against a Persian with Gallows up.

The rules are a little hazy on that, but I think the distinction is that entire Brigades can be ignored including Enhancements, but individual Enhancements can't be ignored without the Brigade being Ignored. That's just my best guess on what the qualifiers are, though.

so in the above example the persian is not ignored, how does that affect the enhancements played on the persian?

RTC was chosen to ignore brown.  Since Haman's Plot is brown and it's not a Persian (for Haman's Gallows), it's ignored and cannot target Genesis Heroes.

thats what i thought, so are there any brown battlewinners considered persian and would gallows help them?

Enhancements (except Deafening Spirit) do not have civilization identifiers.
