If an evil character is ignored in the field of battle, are they returned to the holder's territory or can you still play grapes on that character? My confusion comes from the definition of Ignore.
Ignore is a special ability that protects a card from being defeated, harmed, or affected by the ignored card. It also prevents the card with ignore from harming or affecting the ignored card. An ignore card stops an ignored character from entering the Field of Battle. An ignore ability can be a successful blocking or rescuing card. Ignore is the same as “has no effect” and repel.

Any character that is NOT already in the field of battle and IS ignored CANNOT enter the field of battle.
Any character that IS already in the field of battle and is ignored stays in battle and effectively has infinite initiative to play anything that does not target the character doing the ignoring. In addition, you would definitely be able to use Grapes of Wrath in this situation.

Thank you for the clarification :)

Follow up ignore ?: If you ignore an evil character in the field of battle, and they don't play any additional cards, do you win the battle? Or is it more like an immune situation?
-
Yes, you win but they don't die.

Thank you :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is how it's played.

Well yeah, if you negate the ignore then you're not being ignored, so initiative passes.

So 1. you can negate/interupt an ingore or 2. you cannot negate/interupt an ignore?

Ignore, Immune and Protect can all be negated/interrupted/prevented.

As far as I know, the only ability that is intrinsically CBN is "Enhancements played by this dude are CBN"

Also, "play first" abilities are CBI and "look at/reveal hand" is CBI by default.
