Title: Idol Gossip w/ Darius Decree

Can my opponent play enhancements if i play side battle card to make his hero fight another hero with Darius Decree up?

no because the ec is still in battle

That's wrong, the EC is not in territory they are still in battle, period

Can you some up the links in a post please?

Should a side battle be some thing that Decree should effect because 2 heroes are in battle?

I'm confused as to where exactly the EC is if it's not in battle. It's certainly not in territory, so where else could it be? It can't be nowhere. I understand this SHOULD work with the INTENTION of Decree, but we know all about intentions in card design *cough* Split Altar ruling *cough*

The EC is in the Field of Battle, but is not in battle. Any card referring to "battle" or "in battle" has always only referred to the current battle. There were some really good reasons for that ruling a long time ago (Gib trick in a side battle I think was one of them). I'm not sure if it's as necessary or not, but that is the rule.

Thus if DD is up during a side battle between Heroes, your opponent cannot play enhancements.
