Also, this somewhat nerfs common staples like Provisions, Pentecost, etc., as they would have to be played in battle. That's not a bad thing either, in my opinion.

i agree that it should stay the same because1) it makes them not worthwhile in a deck2) it takes away a lot of speed from the game such as not being able to play first fruits or pentecost during Prep/discard3) there are a lot of set aside enhancements for tealbut will not complain with whatever the elders and judges decide (or whoever changes the rules)

I am going to agree with Drrek on this one. It would make them pretty much unplayable.
I would say to wait until after Nationals to have this discussion, if you still feel it needs to be had
