Was Bethany in Samaria? I am not sure...but I highly doubt it..especially with the low regard for Samaritans, hence probably why they were used in probables.

No.  Bethany was in Jerusalem, which is part of the Kingdom of Judah.  Samaria is a separate city in the Kingdom of Israel.

I think we had better rely on direct reference to someone being Samaritan - not rely on where they live. In the NT time period, it was common for people to live outside their national boundaries. If the Bible says explicitly that one is a Samaritan, then that decides it. That is the rule I will follow in generating the list of cards in this category.
