Does I am Redemption only work upon activation, or is it ongoing, much like Burial Shroud, Blue Tassels, Holy of Holies, etc?
I have always played it as ongoing, which means that if I have it active and my hero is captured in battle, the hero instantly returns to my territory. However, one of my opponent's mentioned that it might be an ability that only takes effect upon activation. Which way is it played?
I am Redemption
"Return your captured heroes to your territory. Cannot be negated by an evil card."

Are you getting two cards confused?
How does healing deal with capture?
-
You can use I am healing as an instant... but it won't get your captured heroes back.
-
the "May" in the ability mans you can use it any time it's active. But it can onloy heal from healable things (Poison, Disease, Discard)
-
I think he's mixing I am Healing and I am Redemption though the question involves both. I believe that both are on-going and can be "tapped" once per round that they are activated. My reasoning is that they are worded in the same way as Unholy Writ or Covenant of Noah, which only make sense if they can be used at any time.
-
Even with the "may" clause, unless it were on-going you would only have the option to heal or not heal right when it was activated.
-
My apologies, I definitely was thinking I am Redemption the entire time I was typing I am Healing... ::)
-
I Am Redemption is ongoing and returns heroes all the time.
I Am Healing is not ongoing and is instant (but can be used at any time). When you decide to use a "use", everyone is healed. If a hero is discarded later, they die.

The second part I'm not sure about, but I don't have a strong feeling either way.
-
I Am Creator: "If you do not have a Hero in your territory, or set-aside area, then search draw pile for a Hero and put it in your territory. Cannot be interrupted. Limit once during each of your turns."
I Am Redemption: "Return your captured Heroes to your territory. Cannot be negated by an evil card."
I Am Creator - Instant...I Am Redemption - Ongoing?!?!
So we're going to get things bass-ackwards? I just found out that I Am Creator occurs upon activation only (although it states, "Limit once during each of your turns"). But I Am Redemption is going to be an ongoing ability?
Cats chasing dogs again... :-\

Stamp, I think Cameron means that with I am Redemption you can use it any time during your turn, and any number of times during your turn, so it's basically ongoing.

Exactly, but I think it was ruled that I am Creator does NOT work like that anymore.
-
Based on how I Am Creator is played, we have been playing that as soon as it activates, you get back captured heroes. (By the way, this does include out of Raider's Camp, correct?)

yes, it includes heroes in Raider's Camp.
Yes, as soon as you activate I Am Redemption, you get your heroes back. I believe you would also get a hero back if one got captures later in the turn.
-
I've always played I am Redemption as activating once per turn, and only on your prep phase.
-

Yeah, see this doesn't sound right to me. I don't see anything ongoing in that ability.
-
Well, I'm not sure the I am Creator change was ever officially made. I do agree that they should all be the same and I am in favor of letting them take place once per turn when the holder chooses.
-
I don't think they should be ruled the same. I am Creator and I am Healing both have triggers (the words If and May respectively) whereas I am Redemption does not. I think it's a huge difference.
-
Hey,
Stamp has his logic right. He just lacked the confidence in his post to tell everyone else that they are wrong :) I am Redemption has an instantaneous ability and it is not an optional ability, so it happens when it is activated and is then done for the turn.

That's how I've always understood and played it.
