I can't find the answer!

So I've been toying around between two decks and need to know the answer to this question to help me decide.  (And I looked everywhere but could not find a definitive answer).  Do enhancements still get tossed when the opponent has their hand protected?  I know mine do, but how does it affect their end of battle?

I would think that either toss happens normally or they cannot toss or play the enhancement.

i don't have  definite answer but i would think that they would still be tossed normally because it is targeting the enhancements.
Although does it target the enhancements when they are played or in there hand or when? i don't really know, good question! :)

It's not explicitly stated in the Toss entry in the REG but there are a few things we can key in on to find the answer.

Quote from: REG > Toss > How to Play
A toss ability allows a player to play an enhancement in a different way than usual;

Quote from: REG > Toss > Default Conditions
Enhancements discarded to the toss ability are played from hand.

Both of those entries indicate to me that the Enhancement is played, then a toss ability causes the Enhancement to have a different effect than it normally would have.

But what does it mean to "play" an Enhancement?

Quote from: REG > Play
You play an enhancement by attempting to activate its special ability (or numbers in battle)

The conclusion I draw from all of this is that toss doesn't target the hand at all, but instead targets the eligible Enhancements that are being played in battle.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

But the new reg says thay toss targets a card about to be played. If it is about to be played, it is still in hand. I really think this needs to be looked at fully because this would make the REG wrong.

That's not quite the right interpretation of "about to be played" but I can see how it might be confusing. A card is always played before it can be tossed. For example, Coliseum tosses enh w/ "cannot be negated" on them or no special ability, but the enh actually needs to hit the table for Coliseum to check it for those conditions.

So this means you could play Bravery of David or Victory of David during SI while Colosseum is up, then either their SA activates before it can be target for toss, out else it is targeted when played and tosses during SI. Which is the case?
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!
