If i use I am Holy and discard an angel while i have chamber out does it go to chamber instead? If it does go does my opponent still discard a evil card?

Yes, instead abilities target from anywhere.

I don't believe so. wording is different so I am not sure.

Your opponent would not have to discard an evil card, since you didn't fulfill your end. Instead of discarding the angel, you put it in a fortress. You need to actually discard a card to force your opponent to do his part.

I didnt know if it was the same thing because when you discard an angel in battle chamber triggers so technically you cant negate the enhancement that discarded you would have to negate chamber cause that is what is removing you but we dont play it that way

Chamber is not causing the removal. Chamber just changes the "discard" to a "place." The original discard ability is causing the removal, since you cannot manually trigger Chamber's "instead."

I actually brought this same point up at Nats.  We agreed that it should be changed AT Nats, but per the current rules, Chamber is actually the card causing the removal.  There never was a discard, there was a place ability.  It does not matter how something is triggered, it is still the source.  Same with Obi-Wan's Caves.

Per the current SI rules, you'd have to negate the card with the instead ability if it is what is removing a character from battle.

I'm just quoting this for future reference, so I can say that my mind worked like a pro at one point.  ;)
