"Negate last evil card played" VS card that removes itself from play

A scenario I was wondering: Hero is blocked by Uzzah(3/2) who attempts to remove himself and an artifact from play (by discard) to protect lost souls from rescue. I don't know if this matters but lets say the Hero is Benjamin(1/1). Would Benjamin have any sort of initiative to play Covenant with Noah that says: "Negate the last evil card played. Discard an evil enhancement."? Could this work to negate Uzzah? Thanks in advance!

Nope, Uzzah's ability resolves before the opponent has initiative. And because Uzzah's ability does not remove the last hero (bit rusty on SI conditions), there is no special initiative either.

Ok, so is there anything that can respond to Uzzah to stop it?

Not if he was the last evil character in battle and wasn't prevented. If he was banded in, and your hero had initiative, a "negate the last evil card/character", could negate his ability.

Some cards also let you play an enhancement if blocked, so like you if you had Faith of Abraham on Abraham you could play Covenant with Noah after Uzzah blocks.
