An "add to battle' ability=band. So Hosea captures Ammy's Slave?

I dont think so. I think it has to say band on the card. I know at Regionals or States where i had a deck that had a covenant that "searched discard pile for a white enhancement with a ignore ability" but the only white ignore enhancement i had was the old text of ignore, so it didnt count.

Then it was ruled wrongly.
I Am Love (AW)

Limit once per turn. • Play As: ??? • Identifiers: None • Verse: I John 4:8 • Availability: Angel Wars booster packs (Common)
REG
Ongoing Abilities > Ignore
Clarifications
The word “repel” and the phrases “has no effect,” “may not be blocked by,” and “cannot enter battle” mean the same as “ignore”.
This has been ruled an Ignore ability
Household Idols (Ap)
Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Heroes may not band. Good banding cards have no effect. • Play As: Prevent band abilities of Heroes. Ignore good banding cards. • Identifiers: NT, Depicts an Idol, False Religious Practice • Verse: I Corinthians 12:2 • Availability: Apostles booster packs (Ultra Rare)

I do not believe that add to battle is necessarily considered a band, thusly I do not believe that hosea can capture Am Slave.

Actually, because I am Love specifies "ignore" in the special ability, and those didn't have "ignore" in the special ability, it doesn't work. However, it IS an ignore ability. So if something negates ignore abilities, than it would negate "repel" abilities too. If it negates cards with "ignore" in the special ability, it does not negate "repel" abilities.

The Amalekite's Slave does not have a band ability at face value. The only time his ability could be a band ability is if another character is in battle when he does his search. Hosea cannot capture him.

Last I knew, "add to battle" and "exchange" are only considered banding when they add a character to your side of the battle when there currently is one there (or something to that effect). If that's the case, no, Am's Slave is not a banding character, but if he is in battle with someone else when you use his ability, the act of bringing in the new character will be banding, and will be appropriately affected by cards that affect banding abilities.

An exchange ability is never a banding ability. This was explicitly stated all the way back in Priests when Perpetual Priesthood was determined to not be prevented by HHI.
The idea that adding a character to a side of the battle that already has a character is always a banding ability is incorrect. It's under debate now to what degree it is incorrect, but in any case TAS never has a banding ability.
