Falling Away and Lost Souls

If I use Falling Away and the only card my opponent has in his Land of Redemption is Lost Souls, what happens? Does he lose credit for both? Does one go back? Does 2-liner vs. 3-liner matter here (even in a 2-player game)?

I know that whatever happens here is probably common knowledge, but... oh well.
ANB is good. Change my mind.

It goes to your LoB with one counter still on it. So, it only needs to be rescued one more time, so long as it isn't shuffled or discarded.

A common strategy is to give them the two liner, FA it, then shuffle it, let them get one more rescue on it, shuffle, etc.... and then finish with Burial.
