Nope, I've heard that before as well. The word "Greek" was frequently used by Jews to simply refer to all non-Jews (think "gentile").
Examples: Acts 11:20, Acts 20:21, Romans 1:14, 1 Corinthians 1:24, 1 Corinthians 10:32, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Galatians 3:28, Colossians 3:11
