Hi all, I have a Rock of Ages card question...

Just a Hireling
Black/Gray EE
No numerical abilities
SA: Discard your sadducee or Pharisee to shuffle up to three Lost Souls into deck.

Well, I think the special ability should probably be read as this:
SA: Discard your sadducee or Pharisee to shuffle up to three Lost Souls into owners' decks.

Otherwise, I might shuffle the Hopper Lost Soul into my own deck... but that would go against Redemption rules. Am I correct in this assumption that no player can shuffle the card of another player into his own deck?

This card confuses me a little because there have been new cards like Queen Taphenes that take control of opponent's cards, and I just want to make sure that Just a Hireling is not one of them.

You are correct, when shuffled all cards reset and go back to their owners (unless it says for remainder of game)
An unanswered question is infinitely better than an unquestioned answer.

Yeah, that is what I thought... and hoped. Thanks.

Any card, when about to go to any deck or discard pile, goes to its owner's pile instead.

JSB is correct and here's just a bit of an explanation. When writing special abilities, we (the playtesters) try to keep the amount of necessary text to a minimum so that card art can be fully appreciated. One example is that whenever a card says "deck" the default meaning is "owner's deck."

i always thought redemption should offer 'extended art' cards, where well-known cards are reprinted with the art box extended (usually spanning the entire card) and no text on it whatsoever to obstruct the illustration. i know most of the upper deck tcg's offer it...i think it'd make for some cool prizes for redemption as well. talk about art appreciation :)

"Tis what I assumed, but it never hurts to ask.

And I do appreciate it. Just want to make sure that I am playing the card correctly.
