Christ's Triumph

If I have Christ's Triumph on a generic Hero who loses a battle, can I discard it to begin a new battle with the exact same Hero?

Christ's Triumph: "Place on your N.T. human Hero: If your N.T. human Hero fails a rescue attempt, you may discard this card to begin a new rescue attempt with this Hero."

So would this trigger during special initiative or would it play out more like a 'Heal' ability (not that it would be a healing ability, just curious on timing)
Meanwhile in Iowa...

To clarify, it can be used that way if the generic Hero survives the battle and returns to territory (i.e. the battle ends in a stalemate, the Hero is withdrawn or ignored). If the Hero is discarded, captured, banished, underdecked, shuffled or returned to hand then Christ's Triumph would not work.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?
