I have Hating the Light placed on Philistine Armor Bearer. I switch Philistine Armor Bearer with Goliath. Does Hating the Light stay?
-
Yes.
-
Hating the Light (Di)
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Multicolor • Ability: None • Class: Territory • Special Ability: Place on your human Evil Character: This Evil Character cannot be ignored and is protected from capture, conversion, and shuffle. • Play As: Place on your human Evil Character: This Evil Character cannot be ignored. Protect this Evil Character from capture, conversion, and shuffle. • Identifiers: None • Verse: John 3:20 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()
-
You can't be protected from yourself, though. Right?
-
Does Hating the Light then work on Goliath?
-
I think PAB is an exchange FWIW so HTL doesn't affect that.
-
INE, but last I heard, placed cards are discarded if the character they're on leaves play/set-aside. :2cents:
-
That's incorrect. Placed cards follow their hosts.

Philly Armorbearer: You may exchange this card with an evil Philistine in your deck or discard pile. Evil Enhancements remain in battle. Cannot be negated.
So...wouldn't it not follow? W/C Enhancements follow their hosts.

I agree with this. At first I though that Pol was correct, because I thought that PAB specified Evil weapons. But now that I see his ability, I agree with RW. I assume Pol would as well, he just didn't remember exactly what PAB said, since SOMEBODY forgot to PLEASE POST ABILITIES... >:(

I was responding directly to this:

Didn't forget, just was in a hurry. :D
So, would Goliath then be protected by Hating the Light?

No, Goliath is not "that Evil Character" as mentioned on HtL. In fact, I would rule that Hating the Light would be discarded after battle like a normal enhancement. It's only there because of PAB's ability, not because of its own ability
-
No, Goliath is not "that Evil Character" as mentioned on HtL.
Indeed. And, for those who were wondering, using an exchange to replace a female hero with a male hero will not give you access to the Female-only LS.
Exchange can take the position of a card, but it does not gain the previous card's attributes.

Correct. The lone exception is in T2 with Rescuer's Choice, where exchanging the LS does change the "choice" of the LS to the one that is exchanged for. This was implemented to avoid cards like Nebushasban becoming another auto-blocker. However, if you exchange the chosen LS for one that the Hero(es) don't have access to (for example, exchange for the female only when only male Heroes are in battle) then that's basically a successful block.

I can't remember, what happens when 7 Wicked Spirits exchanges with a set-aside evil character? Does it not start gaining the effect from the set-aside? If it doesn't become targeted, does it just return to territory?
P.S. If one character of a group returns to territory, do the rest stay in set-aside or return? Basically, if my opponent sets aside 6 evil characters with He is Risen?, what happens when I exchange 7ws with one of them?
-
It would depend on the wording of the set-aside. I'd say that no, 7WS does not start gaining the ability, since it's not the EC originally targeted with the set-aside. I don't think it'd ever return, either.
-
SWS is set aside forever.
-
... and for the P.S. question, wouldn't they become 12 Wicked Spirits?
-
So the final ruling on this question is that Hating the Light is on Goliath but doesnt protect him, correct?

Correct.
-
Is it discarded after battle?
-
Yes.
