Title: Has Shobach been edited or fixed?

Shobach (P)
Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Gray • Ability: 9 / 6 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: May use and hold weapons of any brigade. May band to a generic Syrian. • Play As: May use and hold weapons of any brigade [use other enhancements]. May band to a generic Syrian. • Identifiers: OT Male Human, King & Commander (Syria), Royalty, Fought Earthly Battle • Verse: II Samuel 10:16

As he reads he cannot hold the weapons in the territory if they are another color because the SA will no longer be active in territory.  Has this been fixed or is this another card going the way of the Split Altar.

Once again we all "know" what this card was suppose to do, but are we going to let it do it because the language is incorrect.

They really should have made his ability an identifier, and I'm not sure why they didn't.

yeah, that should have been how it was handled oro they should have added the words "While in play"....but they didnt

I believe the new REG will explain that all "holds" abilities are actually identifiers if that has not already been established.

Soo we will improve the status of Shobach based on how the card is worded but not split altar?  interesting....

and split altar works...just not as it was intended to work.

Well then it makes sense that Split Altar does not shuffle artifact piles. Sure, it makes it useless, but...

The way I heard it is that "holds" abilities are inherently "while in play". So that once Shobach (or red David) enters battle, they can hold a weapon class enhancement of any evil (or good) brigade (except silver) just like any WC character of that color while they are in play.

That is my question too.  I think the answer to that is "no".  Therefore, the previous explanation of how Shobach works also doesn't seem to work.

No, identifiers don't. However, I have never heard that a "holds" special ability is considered an identifier even if it isn't written in the identifier line, so I'm not sure where Justin heard that from. I was just explaining how I thought his ability worked.
