ok just wanted to make sure. Now could you heal them since they are being discarded even though they aren't in play or does that have the same ruling as healing heroes discarded from the deck?

But for now, I'm alone in my understanding of that logic.
people will realize that special abilities override normal game rules
does the same thing go for atrifacts in fortresses being discarded? Like Z-Temple and lampstand?
what about the fortressses that allow you to remove heros during your upkeep phase. Which comes first, set fire or removal of heros before set fire?
