After Nationals we're considering making "add to battle" abilities distinct from banding and play abilities when they can perform other actions. This means that "Add to Battle" will have it's own special ability entry in the REG for the first time (as seen below).
For example, a card like Nebuchadnezzar who can add a qualifying character or enhancement to hand or battle is not a band ability even if the character is added to battle. It's also not a play ability if an Enhancement is added.
However, there area a few cards that use "add to battle" when all they ever really do is band. Those will remain banding cards and be addressed in a future "play as / errata" document that is in the works.
For example, Faith of Jacob (CoW) can add the taken Heroes to battle. Since that is the only option, this card will still be treated as a band ability if the characters are added to the battle.
Below are the updates that this will cause to the REG followed by a list of cards that use "add to battle". The ones with (band) after the card name are band abilities, not "add to battle" as is written on the card.

General Description
An add to battle ability brings a card into the current battle and activates it's special ability.
How to Play
An add to battle ability targets the cards that are to be brought into battle.
An add to battle ability is instantaneous.
Default Conditions
● Targets must be in a territory.
● Add to battle abilities target cards of the same alignment.
● Add to battle abilities can only add cards to a battle in which you are participating.
● Adding a card to battle causes the player on that side of the battle to control the card. If a different player normally has Permanent Control of the card, the player on that side of the battle gains Temporary Control until the card leaves battle.
Special Conditions
● A unique character can only enter the field of battle once per turn.
● When an add to battle ability adds multiple cards into battle, add them in any order and activate them one at a time in the order the cards were added. Exception: Abilities that add other characters to battle activate after all other abilities on cards added to battle.

● An add to battle ability is not a band ability unless it exclusively adds one or more characters to a side of the battle where at least one other character of the same alignment is always present.
