Title: Grapes vs protection
Post by: wyatt_marcum on July 28, 2016, 06:10:04 AM
If Grapes is played, but I still have an EC in battle, is my opponent allowed to bring in another hero? would he still be allowed to make another rescue attempt?

The condition of GoW is discard AN evil card in battle, so yes, if you discard at least one evil card in battle but still have another in battle then the rest of GoW activates (the remaining EC gets shuffled, along with the other cards in battle, and so long as your opponent doesn't have the most redeemed souls, he can make another rescue attempt).

Correct, though a protected EC would simply return to territory and not be shuffled.

Wait what? Is this shorthand for: a protected EC would successfully block and win the initial battle, returning to territory before the new battle starts (and gaining experience credit in T2)? Because if not then I'm not sure that's right.

Grapes targets everything for shuffle, but since said EC is protected it remains in battle. Grapes resolves the current battle based on remaining characters, and since that EC remains then it "wins," is returned to territory, and Grapes allows the player to begin a new battle granted its conditions are met. I would think that the EC would get experience credit in Type 2 since it won that battle.

Okay that's what I thought, Justin's comment just sounded like it might be implying something else.
