Rescue Attempt -> Battle Challenge

If I begin a rescue attempt with Benjamin (or any blue hero) and they block with Assyrian Survivor (or any pale green evil character) and I have initiative to play The Long Day then they play Death of Unrighteous which makes it a battle challenge do I still get to make a second rescue even though the battle didn't end as a rescue attempt as the The Long Day specifies? On a second note to clarify, would Chariots of Fire work as well? AFAIK, they both would work but I'm not sure.

The Long Day (warriors)
Blue, Good Enhancement
If your rescue attempt this turn fails, holder may make a second rescue attempt this turn.

Having your rescue attempt be turned into a battle challenge is a failed rescue attempt.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Agree with Guardian, and just posting to clarify for you that Chariot would still work as there was an RA, it just failed.
