Would Nazareth prevent players from searching their deck to discard an evil card when using the philistine outpost?

Nazareth (Di)
Type: Site • Brigade: Green • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect cards in your territory and hand from shuffle by an opponent. Protect all decks from search abilities. • Identifiers: Jew • Verse: Matthew 13:57 • Availability: Disciples booster packs

Philistine Outpost (TP)

Type: Fortress • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: When you are attacked, you may discard this card or an evil card from deck to search discard pile for a generic Philistine and place it in your territory. Protect Sites from being placed beneath decks.

I thought so. The arrival of The Philistine outpost has been a thorn in the side for many players in my group. they will be pleased at another measure to slow down the constant recycling of the Philistine Garrison.

If the REG definition of deck is current, I don't think it will, since "deck" and "draw pile" are the same, but not the discard pile.

From the REG:

"Deck"

"Deck and Draw Pile are interchangeable. At the beginning of a game, a A deck is a minimum of 50 cards chosen by each player. Decks can be customized by a theme or specifically tuned to a player’s personal strategies."

Interestingly, there is no separate REG definition for "discard pile."

Wut?
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Nazareth protects all "decks" from search abilities. Philly Outpost searches a discard pile. If deck=draw pile, then Nazareth would not stop PO from searching the discard pile.

I'm not saying this is so; I'm saying this is how the current REG defines "deck." Personally, I think draw pile + discard pile = deck is how it should work.

PO requires you to search your draw pile (if you use the first option to pay the cost). That is what you can't do, pay the cost by discarding an evil card from your deck, because you can't search for one. If you pay the cost by discarding PO, you are able to search your discard pile for a generic Philly. Nazareth does nothing to stop you from searching your discard pile. Just your deck/draw pile.

This was my understanding but I wanted to be sure.

He can't do anything, as far as I know. A Look ability is a Search ability, just worded differently.
