Mary, and Mary The mother of James

This has prolly been answered already. David and King David are the same person but different cards. I believe, if an evil character "ignores David" that they ignore both David and King David. I know the author of James is refered to as Christs Brother, So could both of these Mary's be the same person? If that is the case, could Mary have access to the Garden Tombs ability?

I believe it is like the ruling on David using the Promised Land.  David is not the same as King David as far as Promised Land is concerned, so I don't think that Mary is the same as Mary, the mother of James for gameplay because the Garden Tomb only grants the ability to the card with that specific title.

Type: Fortress • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: If opponent has a redeemed Lost Soul, then Salome, Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Peter, John, and Mary the mother of James ignore all evil brigades that do not have at least two Characters in play. • Identifiers: Empty! • Verse: Mark 16:1 • Availability: Rock of Ages booster packs (None)

If it doesn't specify the identifier, then it can be either. If it specifies the identifier (like TGT), it has to be the card with that title. See King Amon/King Manasseh thread.

David cannot use Promised Land infinitly.  I think it was ruled because the David card is supposed to be him before became King.  But it seems it has been expanded into a general rule that if the card title is used it has to match ala the King Amon/King Manasseh thread here, if the card is referring to the person it won't use a specific title.

But David became king. He should be able to use it like that...He is the king but the king isn't him before he was king....if that makes sense  :P  :o   ;D  :-\

oh well...who uses promised land anyways xp oh snap promise land deck!

You may want to check this thread out here.  It has at least one Elder in the discussion.

Thats how I would rule it.  I would rule that they are the same character, but Since Garden Tomb Mentions only one of them by Title, that one is the only one who gets the ability.
