Negating "Protect" abilities

Some of the new TexP cards like Habakkuk say that they "Negate all protect abilities on evil cards."  Does this include immunity on Evil Characters (like Philistine Garrison for example)?

Quote from: REG > Ongoing Abilities > Immune >Clarifications
“Immune to”, “cannot be”, “protected from,” and “may not be” all mean the same thing when applied to characters.

Quote from: REG > Ongoing Abilities > Protect >Clarifications
The phrases “immune to”, “ignores”, “cannot be”, “may not be”, “may only be _____ by”, “must be _____ by”, “no _____ may be, “prevented from being”, “protected from”, and “protect” have the same function.

I assume the answer is yes.  I just want to be sure.

I would think that those REG entries need to be updated. "Protect" and "Immune" are not the same ability, even though they have similar functions.

Hab negates the important abilities on Uzzah, Trembling Demon, and other guys, but protect is definitely NOT the same thing as immune.  Does King's Sword negate Uzzah's ability to protect lost souls?

I think Immune (and Ignore/Repel) are sub-categories of protect.

Hey,

Some of the new TexP cards like Habakkuk say that they "Negate all protect abilities on evil cards."  Does this include immunity on Evil Characters (like Philistine Garrison for example)?

No.  Immune and Protect are two different abilities.

Quote from: REG > Ongoing Abilities > Immune >Clarifications
“Immune to”, “cannot be”, “protected from,” and “may not be” all mean the same thing when applied to characters.

Sadly those clarifications in the REG have been inaccurate almost since the day they were added to the REG.  I'm not sure why they have never been removed or changed.  (Note that the second one says "immune" and "ignore" have the same function even though that has never been the case.)

Tschow,

This entry in the REG is very, very old. It was needed at that time it was added to the REG to bind together cards that had various ways of saying the same thing. Since that time, cards have taken on a more consistent and limited vocabulary. Although it will be removed in the next release of the REG, the quote above did serve a useful purpose. Perhaps it is becoming a hindrance instead of a help now.

OK... if someone plays Failed objective, are all evil characters discarded, but no protection happens?

If you're silly enough to play Failed Objective, yes. :D

What's wrong with saying Tasty? i honestly don't see what's wrong with that.  I like that i just figured out something good about Habakkuk, and i said 'tasty' to express my ecstatic-ness.
