This came up recently (twice) so I thought I should ask.  If someone rescues the Lost Souls card (either the 2 line or the 3 line version), BOTH of them, and it is in their Land of Bondage, what happens if someone plays Falling Away on that card?

Does it:

1)  It comes out but there is still an invisible single lost soul in their Land of Redemption (so if they had 2 in LOR they now have one). And in this way, even if the card itself (with just one lost soul) is shuffled, buried, etc, there is only one lost soul "left" on that card.

or 2)  Both Lost Souls come out of the Land of Redemption, taking their score in this example from 2 to 0.  Now if that Lost souls is shuffled or buried the person who had rescued both halves gets nothing.

or 3)  The Lost Souls card is immune to Falling Away, because it is two Lost Souls, not one.


I'm hoping that its number 2 or 3 somehow, because Falling Away specifically targets a Lost Soul (singular), but I'm interested to hear the official ruling on this.  Thanks!

If the 2-liner has been rescued by two different players and FAs, does the player playing FA get to choose which half FAs? Example: Player 1 rescues half a LSs in my LOB. I later use SoG/NJ and rescue the other half as part of my play. I later play FA and use it on LSs. Do I get to choose that his half has fallen (meaning if he rescues it again I still get a LS from it)? That would be the way I play it. (The score would be -1 LS from each of us. It's just what happens with the remaining LS when it is rescued.)

Really? I thought I had read a couple years ago that it always is taken from the person whose Land of Redemption it is in. Good to know.
