Is the "Play As" on the Redemption Wiki official? I know this was discussed a while back, and the question came up at a tournament today. We're going by the wiki "Play As," but one player doesn't believe this is correct.

The play as appears wrong - the gain is permanent.

I added the abilities from the Wiki and Current Play As spreadsheet.

Each Hero in battle gains 0/4 and the battle immediately ends. Ability can not be interrupted or prevented.

Errata/Play As: Each Hero in battle gains 0/4 until the end of battle and the battle immediately ends. Cannot be negated.

This ties in perfectly with another Q that came up last booster draft:

What gains are permanent and what gains aren't? Do cards such as Elijah's Mantle and Cov w/ Salt give permanent gains? If so, why?
If you were to go on a trip... where would you like to go?

Artifacts are ongoing gains so they are temporary. Instant gains are permanent. See this thread for official ruling.

Gib Trick is permanent. Someone may want to PM Lambo's to correct the wiki. His source probably needs corrected too.

I thought that Elijah's Mantle was temporary because it said "...while this card is in play" and Covenant with Salt was permanent because it didn't have such a clause.  Basically, all gains/decreases are permanent unless they have a qualifying clause.  Right?

The rule is that instant ability increase/decreases are permanent (unless otherwise specified) and ongoing ability increase/decreases are temporary (otherwise Crown of Thorns would reactivate every turn, killing EC's within four turns).
