I CTB with RBD up.  With a multi enhancement in hand, I choose Damsel for you.  I then discard the top eight (or seven, my mind's blanking right now) cards of your deck, right?  Rationale: you are using Damsel's special ability.  It's nonoptional.

I CTR with Naz up.  With ANB placed on a hero, I chose said hero for you.  Why is this different than above?

#1, yes, that was the basis for the winning teams decks at Nationals last year.

#2, no, placed cards are controlled by the person that placed them. It's come up in other threads. A more in depth explanation is available there if you want to search for it.

I knew that.  My question is, why are the two different?  Is there a reason with precedent, or just Elder say-so?

One is a placed card, one is a character. They are completely different.

If you play "Lay Down Your Life" on your Hero and I band to it, may I then discard it for effect? No, you still control it. Same goes for enhancements placed by Agur and like characters. The placer controls the enhancement and the trigger that sets it off.
