Does Pharaoh's Baker count himself for X?

An argument emerged from a ruling on this card during a recent game.
When my opponent used Baker's ability, there were two other Genesis humans in his territory.
He removed the Baker from the game for one of those, leaving a total of two Genesis humans.  He wanted to draw 3 but I thought he could only draw 2 because that was all that was left.

Does Pharaoh's Baker count himself for X?

Pharaoh's Baker
You may remove this evil character from the game to draw X (limit 3) and add your evil Genesis Egyptian to the batttle, Cannot be interrupted.  (X= # of your Genesis humans)

No.  He is not in play when you draw so he doesn't count.
