just trying to seperate out cause other thread degraded but can i get final confirmation if omri gets initive after ability i can play smc resetting the site and maintain the decrease because gates was not negated

Bad idea- Asking a question without posting the abilities of the cards in question.
Worse idea- Asking a question and using an acronym for a relatively obscure card.

At any rate, I would argue that the decrease would not stick. Because Gates of Samaria is not CBN, that means that it should be able to be indirectly negated. In this case, when Shimei's Malicious Curse gets played, it resets Omri, so it's like the Samaria was never put in play to begin with. That said, I'm probably wrong.

Shimei's Malicious Curse (Ki)

Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Brown • Ability: 0 / 4 • Class: None • Special Ability: All special abilities on characters and enhancements except this one are negated. except thats opposite to the herods dungeon ruling and im never stopping gates it functions does its thing then im resetting the search but i just want confirmation based on ruling that was made on other thread

Gates is a triggered ability and to my knowledge they cannot go in reverse. Therefore I would say the site goes back to deck and the decrease is sticks. Honestly I am not 100% either the part that is tripping me up is that Gates is never really being negated explicitly.

You can't negate a play ability, but you can negate a search. The Site goes back, Gates is undone.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

card outside of battle aka gates simulates herods dungeon im only affecting the battle everything outside is untouchable

That was never the ruling for Herod's Dungeon. The ruling was that because FaaMS only targets occupied sites, it couldn't target a Dungeon trying to capture a hero, unless another hero who could play it was in battle.

The ruling that you couldn't negate Gates of Samaria by negating Omri is a question of initiative, if you are losing by removal you have to interrupt the card causing you to lose by removal, in the case of Shimei's Malicious Curse you aren't losing by removal (and if you are it has nothing to do with Gates of Samaria) so it will negate Omri's ability putting Samaria back and undoing the decrease.
