Character-following and how it relates to Grapes of Wrath

So if there's one evil character in battle and he is disposed of somehow, do any enhancements previously played on him stick in battle until it's over? I ask because I am interested whether Grapes can discard one of those enhancements to shuffle the hero.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to, assuming you let the enhancements ability complete first

Whenever a Character is removed from battle and there are no Characters of matching Brigade remaining, the Enhancements are Discarded.
