Special Initiative

I feel like I have given it it's due diligence by searching for well over an hour. Can someone please point me to the thread that specifically details what exactly SI is? As I understand at THIS point, having read umpteen threads, SI is always given to a player, regardless of what normal initiative is, when they will be losing due to removal only.

I had been playing that if your losing by removal and don't have standard ini, too bad, you lose. We are all hesitant to play big # characters, because Minnie Mouse can knock you out with a small */* removal enhancement.

I'm not sure where that thread is but the ruling essentially is if you're losing by removal you have special initiative to play an interrupt or negate unless the card causing the removal is cbi or cbn.

EDIT: You can look it up here http://cactusgamedesign.com/redemption_REG.php. If you click the link in the middle of the page then you'll just have to scroll down to the Glossary of Terms and find "Special Initiative". That's what you're looking for, right?

That's exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much. Guess I should move on from the starter rule book. I'm sure I'll get a lot of answers from that link.

The REG is basically the rule book on steroids. You can find almost everything there.
