Question about AoC

When the AoC is played in battle and all of the Evil characters are disarded...Does the Hero get an automatic lost soul. (as long as the AoC isnt prevented or negated)

Also if there are no Evil characters in play the next round of battle does the Hero get a lost soul without contest?

You have to be smarter than it.

Yes and yes, as long as the hero has access to the Lost Soul and assuming the player does not have any EC in hand or draws any.

Uh, no and no.

When the evil characters are discarded, the defending player can do a number of things, such as play a dominant, use an artifact, or such things.

The same applies to the next battle.

Short of those things, yes, the Hero wins a lost soul.

Short of those things, yes, the Hero wins a lost soul.

I was assuming he was "short."  ;)

So, Matman, some things you could do:

1. If Unknown Nation is active, you can use its ability to bring a new EC into battle from your draw pile.
2. You can use Christian Martyr to discard the hero, which would prevent a lost soul rescue if it was the only hero.
3. Use Unholy Writ to capture the hero, which would prevent a lost soul rescue if it was the only hero.

These are a few examples of the other possiblities Kevin was referring to.
