Post by: Arrthoa on July 18, 2011, 12:33:21 AM
Does my Pharaoh's Throne Room protect my Egyptians from the AoC (Promo) ?

Pharaoh's Throne Room: Evil Fortress
SA:Protect Egyptian Evil Characters in your territory from discard and conversion. While you have an Egyptian king or Pharaoh in play negate all ignore abilities on opponent's Heroes.

Athority of Christ (Promo): Purple Enhancement
SA: Discard all Evil Characters in play. Cannot be Interrupted, Negated, or Prevented.

Yes.
To further explain, Throne Room (and other so-called "protect" fortresses) protect your characters from discard.  What this means is that they cannot be targeted by a discard ability.  AoC(p) attempts to target every EC for discard.  Your Egyptians (in territory) can't be targeted, so they aren't discarded.

It's not a negate, it's a protect.

Negate undoes something
Interrupt stops it from completing
Prevent stops it from happening

Protect does not allow an ability to effect a character.
