Is there a ruling on what happens when Protected Foreign Wives is in battle and attacker plays Ambush the city?
Ambush The City: If making a rescue attempt, set all cards in battle aside (regardless of immunity). Holder may begin a new rescue attempt against same player. Once new rescue attempt is completed, the original battle resumes as a battle challenge. Cannot be negated.
I am wondering if Foreign Wives is in the revisited original battle.

I don't think she can be set aside, since she is protected from your opponent's cards.

Yes there is (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/ruling-questions/fw-vs-atc/).
She would be in the original battle when it continues, to answer your question. For more details, or additional questions, see the thread above.

Thanks!

I have another question about activated abilities and Ambush the city. Does anyone that has an ability that activates on defeating an opponant, such as Abimelech or similar cards, have it activated when ambush the cities ability activates?
Abimelech: If Gideon is in your discard pile, negate and discard an Artifact or single color Site. If you win this battle, you may discard an evil card.

"This battle" means only the current battle that Abimelech is in. That battle does not 'end' when AtC is played, and so it is determined at the 'end' of that original battle. It does not 'spill over' into the new battle, because it only affects the one battle Abimelech is in (whichever that is).
If there is a more specific question or scenario missed there, just let me know.

Nope, you got it, thanks!
