1st Question, What does David's Harp say?

2nd Question: Potter's Field notes that they're still treated as D/C'd so it would go to Potters Field, but then his effect would activate, (Like Servant Girl would still capture herself)

3rd Question: No.
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

David's Harp (Wa)

Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Following a rescue attempt holder may select one Hero that is about to be discarded and place Hero on top of owner's draw pile.

Why couldn't you place enhancements on heroes in Potter's Field with the red guy that does that?  They are still heroes and they are set-aside

Because Potter's Field tells you to treat them as if they were Discarded, also, I can't play a Set-Aside on a Disciple in Boat either, that's just the rule.

Then, it is insteaded by Harp, just like Chamber Insteads Angels.

Seems like a trick question...

The answer is: Don't use Potter's Field. Ever.

So davids harp would take effect before potters field?

you can't play a set-aside on a disciple in boat because they are set-aside and you can only play set-aside enhancements on heroes in play, that doesnt have anything to do with the potters field thing

i still dont see why you cant use jahaziel to place an enhancement on someone in potters field, is there precedence for a hero being discarded not to be counted as a hero?  they may be "being discarded" but they are still a hero and in set-aside, so it fufills the requirements for jahaziels ability

Jahaziel, son of Zechariah (Pi)

Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Red • Ability: 9 / 10 • Class: None • Special Ability: If you have a Hero in a set-aside area, you may place an O.T. Enhancement of matching brigade from hand or discard pile on that Hero. The next time that Hero enters battle, that Enhancement activates and is discarded immediately.

Potter's Field (Ki)

Type: Fortress • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Set this site aside. Holder's Heroes to be discarded are instead placed in this Site. Treat them as discarded Heroes.

Here is the thing, you do not act as if he is in Set-Aside, but in your D/C Pile but cards like Chariot happen first.

Yes, Harp would instead that since they activate at the same time, you choose where the Hero goes, which would most likely be on top of your Deck.

As to the other character, as far as I can tell, no Set-Aside Enhacements work ( no matter how they are placed on the Hero) because the Fort stops that but not letting the Hero. ( The only exception is Ravine where it allows Set-Asides to be played) Remember that Potters Field tells you to act as if they were Discarded, so that means cards affecting set-aside don't affect cards in Potters Field. Also, you still treat a card going to Potters Field as if it was being Discarded, but now it has a new destination, but it's still discarded.

that seems very strange and doesn't really jell with anything else in the game...

here is the play as to potters field:

Play As: Heal Heroes being discarded and hold them here instead. Potter's Field may hold any number of Heroes.

im guessing this is errata disguised as play as, but if its not then you could place enhancements on them because they are just normal heroes in set-aside

That would definately be a disguised errata. The Proper effect has nothing to do with Healing, ( it has about as much to do with Healing as Chamber does)

That is the main problem with the card is that it made the game to confusing for a lot of players, and didn't seem fully thought out, and properly explained.

1. David's Harp is a "may heal" ability.  It can only work if a character is actually about to be discarded.  On the other hand, Potter's Field is an "instead" ability, that actually redirects the discard.  Potter's Field insteads the discard, and then there is no discard to heal for David's Harp.  Then on the third hand, Potter's Field tells you to treat them as discarded, which is something that heal can target.  I would argue that Potter's Field insteads the discard, and they are placed in the fortress.  Then, the "may heal" triggers, and may target one of those discarded heroes to heal and place on top of deck.  But it is a may, and they first go to Potter's Field.

2. Recruiting Officer may have had the discard insteaded by Potter's Field, but he was still defeated and has not "reset" by hitting hand or deck.  He would be captured to LoB as per his ability.

3. You MAY use his ability.  Megamanlan, it may say to treat them as discarded heroes, but that is for cards that target those types (you may target them as heroes or as discarded heroes, and healing cards especially should be applicable as in #1).  However: they are not in your discard pile.  They are heroes in set-aside that can also be targeted as discarded heroes.  Therefore, you may use this combo to place enhancements with Jahaziel, son of Zechariah on those heroes.

This was different from my understanding, since Set-Asides can't work in Forts (at least this is what I thought) because they are treated as Discarded Heroes, but I'm not sure since this card is the most confusing out there...

The thing is, that forts don't inherently protect their contents. Most of the Forts that hold heroes do protect the heroes inside, but not all. Kerith Revine is special not in that a card can be placed on the hero inside, but that a card can be played on the hero inside. I think that might be where you got confused, also.
Just one more thing...

Partly, but also because of the part that says 'Treat as a Discarded Hero' and a Discarded Hero can't hold an Enhancement.

If they are sent to discard, no, but I see no rule or precedent that stops you from playing cards on them while held in Potter's Field.  They are heroes in set-aside, and are not actually in the discard pile.

Set-Asides can certainly work in Forts, unless the contents are protected from either those cards or the player playing the cards.  If they are protected from effect, then yes, they cannot have any cards played on or with them.  Otherwise, you may treat them as characters normally are treated in those locations (note that the fortress would have to play to territory to play a set-aside enhancement, as those target play).

My thought would be the precedent from Captured Heroes, where they aren't actually characters, but Lost Souls. You act as if they are in a place where you cannot play cards regardless of where they actually are.
