Melchizedek's blessing

If i put Melchizedek's blessing on seraiah the high priest, would he still be discarded if he is blocked by a babylonian?

Seraiah: If blocked by a Babylonian, discard this Hero.

Melchizedek's blessing: Place on an O.T. human Hero in a territory or set-aside area. While this card remains, Hero is protected from discard abilities, and each time that Hero enters battle, holder may draw a card.

I believe he would still be discarded because characters can't be protected from themselves.

Ok, that's what i thought, but i just wanted to check, because if this worked, then he would be pretty good!

Just activate Golden Calf or Covenant with Death if you're worried about Seraiah "defeating himself."

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

I've found Covenant with Death works pretty well with a Solomon's Temple offense since Temple Priests are CBP, Amariah's CBI ability is inherently CBN and Seraiah prefers to be negated anyway.  8)

Guardian:

I thought if a character was CBP (Temple Priests), then it could still be "negated" (b/c negate = interrupt + prevent).

Cov. with Death says "Negate Characters," so wouldn't that negate the Temple Priests abilities?

Thanks,

If Covenant with Death was already active as an artifact then when Temple Priests enters battle to activate its ability, the ability is CBP and works.

If Temple Priests entered battle and Covenant with Death was later played as an enhancement or activated as an artifact during battle, then it would negate Temple Priests.

Easiest way to remember:

CBprevented = nothing played before can stop ability from activating

CBinterrupted = nothing played after ability can undo it

CBnegated = nothing played before or after can affect it
