False Teacher & Escape

Quick question: my opponent presents hero/es and I block with False Teacher. I use his ability "you may discard an OT evil enhancement from hand to protect all NT Lost Souls from rescue." He is beating me by numbers therefore giving me initiative. I play Escape. Does the block still work since I used his ability, but don't want to die?

What's the special ability on Escape again? If it is what I think it is then yes it works and you don't die.

Unfortunately this combo doesn't work, as False Teacher's protect ability is an ongoing ability - When you use Escape the protection gets interrupted, and then can't kick back in once False Teacher isn't there anymore.

If you had Holys of Holys up to negate the interupt would it work?
