Confusion of negates

So player A attackes with jepthah and used his ability. Player B blocks with complainers out of hand to negate jephtah. He brings in Jacob from an opponent's territory. It's jacob's initative, and he can't band cause his ability is negated. He plays Abe's servent to Ur. Now what happens?

A. He can now band to a silver guy and stays in battle.
B. Since complainers is negated, jephtah is brought back in with a battle by the numbers.
C. Any option I missed while making the first two.  :)

I'm thinking A. Thoughts?

Would that be considered bringing him into battle a second time?...Arguments could really go both ways on this.

No, as the negate on Abe's Servant makes it as if Jacob was never really in battle and Jepthah was there the whole time.

so would Abe's servant get discarded in this scenario, or return to hand?

To put it in a uber-simple example...

Hey,

so would Abe's servant get discarded in this scenario, or return to hand?

By the same token, The Family Man helps explain side battles.
