Hey,
The REG says:
"Fortify site cards placed face down cannot be targeted directly unless specified otherwise (e.g., Spy) or indirectly (e.g., Dragon Raid)."
The wording of that sentence is awkward and I'm hoping someone who has paid closer attention to face down rulings over the years can clarify it for me. Is that statement saying that Dragon Raid can discard face down cards because it is doing so indirectly? Or that Dragon Raid cannot discard face down cards?

I believe it is saying that DR can discard face down cards indirectly.
-
That is an interesting find Tim. I do agree with Justin.

That is what it is saying, But I don't think it is right. A face down card is out of play regardless if it is on a site or not. Without revealing the face down card you can't know if it is good or evil really.

Actually you can. Most of those "face down cards on sites" are put there by another enhancement that would have been played earlier. For instance, it might say put an EC face down on a site that can be added to battle there later. You can't see the card, but you know it is an EC.

...well, there are currently 0 cards in the game that allow you to put a good card face down on a site...so...
"Fortify site cards placed face down cannot be targeted directly unless specified otherwise (e.g., Spy) or indirectly (e.g., Dragon Raid)."
My natural inclination is to read that as meaning "Fortify site cards placed face down cannot be targeted indirectly (e.g., Dragon Raid) or directly unless specified otherwise (e.g., Spy)."
The ambiguity of the sentence comes from what two things the 'or' is joining.
Overall I'm with RR in thinking that Dragon Raid shouldn't be able to discard face down cards on a site.

I agree that DR shouldn't be able to target face down cards for the same reason that AoC wouldn't discard them, they aren't in play to be targeted.
-
But you forget the other more important rule..... If Tim wants it viewed a particular way then some one is going to have to deal with it and I play him enough to know that isn't good (once at Nats).
I vote NO if Tim wants anything... :D

I agree with Gabe's agreement.
