Potiphar's Wife defeats a male hero the traditional way - numbers.  She captures him instead of discarding him, right?  In that case, should her ability read "instead of" [whatever else would happen]?

Obviously, that has some significant ramifications.  I wish the meaning of PW's ability were more clear.  Does it affect the hero after the hero is defeated via Moses Kills an Egyptian?

Yes. Anytime that Potiphar's Wife discards, captures, removes, or otherwise gets a male Hero out of battle while her ability is active, the Hero is captured. Everyone wishes that P's Wife ability was more clear, but she was made in a time when abilities weren't as clean and clear on new cards.

If Potiphar's Wife uses Moses Kills Egyptian, then she interrupts her own ability when the Hero is set aside. If MKE did not say interrupt the battle, then the Hero would be captured instead of set aside.
