Flight of spies: Up to two heroes may retreat unharmed you may return a good enhancement to hand.
I use any battle winner that would result in his hero being removed from battle (discard capture etc.) can he play flight of spies? I know someone who is of the opinion that it will protect himself. He simply does RA then if I play a battle winner he uses FoS to save his hero and then returns FoS to his hand. I don't think it works because it doesn't have an interrupt. You can't have immunity after the fact. I think he treats it as an instead almost. Instead of X return heroes to territory and one good enhancement. If he's right (which I don't think he is) then this card is absurdly good. No matter what cards you have you aren't risking your hero.
Thoughts?
Thanks again in advance. :)
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your strength.

You have to interrupt the battle winner. And even if it was otherwise, it still wouldn't be that great, since you can't start a new battle afterwards. You can essentially do it now with Peter.

Flight of Spies can only be played if you have regular initiative, or if played via a "play" ability. If the opponent plays a battle winner, you cannot play Flight of Spies by itself since it doesn't interrupt or negate anything. You could use an "interrupt, play next" card and then play Flight of Spies, but FoS cannot be used during special initiative otherwise.

Maybe your friend can use Narrow Escape.
