Interrupt again

Hi there,

short question since I could not find it in REG (maybe only not understand):

Faced in a game the activation of Christian Suing Another and my hero should face Philemon (PC) for battling each other.
But I interrupted Christian Suing Another and removed it from the game which was not negated or deactivated otherwise.
So my question is: Does the drawing ability of Philemon still activated and complete and will not be reverted since it is CBP?
Or is due to the interruption of Christian Suing Another Philemone never entering battle area and hence his SA does not activate?

I thought the latter one but could not find any eplenating description yet.

Your help is appreciated - also for references to documents, threads etc. where this might already be described.

Thanks in advance

Bye

If you interrupt the card causing the side battle while the side battle is going on, all interruptable effects played in the side battle are negated and the original battle resumes. Philemon, however, cannot be interrupted and so his ability is not undone.

Edit:
Quote from: REG
If a card with a side battle ability is negated during the side battle, then all interruptable effects that resulted
from cards played during the side battle are likewise negated. Once the side battle completes, all effects that
concluded in that side battle cannot be interrupted or negated, as they can only be interrupted or negated in the
phase in which they were played.

So when does the interrupt finally trigger then? It is played against the EE causing the side battle - however is it then played still within/during side battle?

The only way to interrupt a side battle effect is with a card played in the side battle itself. A side battle is a separate phase so as soon as it resolves all abilities that completed during it cannot be interrupted.

It's more like a sub-phase than a separate phase, really.
Just one more thing...

Conceptually yes but I think its important to emphasis that for all practical purposes it is a full blown separate phase since a lot of players don't spend time poking around the REG and can easily assume its just an extension of the first battle phase.

This now makes it even more complex. So when I interrupt Christian Suing Another which is itself played in main battle phase is this interrupt already happening in the side battle phase? According to my understanding of the REG it still happens in main battle phase since REG says:
Quote
Interrupting an ability only undoes the completion of that ability's activation. It does not undo the beginning of the ability's activation or the declaration of targets for the ability. The interrupted abilities go back to being pending abilities until they reactivate.
So only target is declareted but side battle not yet started and target not yet entering side battle.

You can't interrupt the side battle before it starts. Once played the ability has to complete (Targets chosen, placed in the side battle, and their special abilities activated) before you have an opportunity to do anything.

Understood, so this is meant by
Quote
Interrupting an ability only undoes the completion of that ability's activation. It does not undo the beginning of the ability's activation or the declaration of targets for the ability.
Meaning, the ability fully completes including naming of targets and in this case sending Phil into sidebattle. Afterwards its completion is undone but this cannot be the case for the CBI ability of Phil, right?
