When DaA says "If your Job is harmed or defeated..." What does that entitle? Remove from the game?

Harmed--anything done to him by a card of a different alignment.

Defeated--losing a battle (either RA or BC).

MJWare is correct.  Once correction...

Defeated: Probably also losing in a SB.  (SB = Side Battle.  You had no chance at that one, since I don't think anyone has ever used that abbreviation before. ;) )

MJB is correct.  Grapes can shuffle Job and he can't be placed in D&A since it's the same alignment. :)
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

I assume that Job would not be considered defeated either since the evil character lost. If the evil character lost how do cards like momentum change work if you played grapes in battle on the evil character?

It is possible for the hero to be defeated and for the EC to be defeated in the same battle. It is also possible for the EC to be defeated, the rescue attempt to fail, and the block be successful. We have to be careful not to lump different definitions into the same statement.

It is really too bad that D&A's SA is optional.  Otherwise I would just activate Elijah's Mantle whenever facing a Job deck. ;)

How would your Elijah's Mantle make your opponent's Job go to D&A?

Since Elijah's Mantle in neutral, increasing Job 2/2 is technically harm.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how strange is it that that was my first thought on hearing about Dust and Ashes SA?

Quote from: Elijah's Mantle
Special Ability: All of Holder's Hero gain 2/2 while this card is in play.

Plagued with Diseases was what I was thinking. It's moot point though.

Yeah--but most people would actually consider that harm. Having protection from discard force you out of battle would be kinda funny.

I was assuming that the evil character lost because they said Job would not go to dust and ashes if he was graped. If you interpretation is correct than job would go to D&A. And that was my point exactly, because I think they made this distinction about momentum change earlier.

Grapes doesn't harm Job but I don't understand how that is not defeating him.  It is removing Job from the battle without a successful rescue attempt.

P.S.  it seems like one of the best ways to get rid of Job would be to band to him and then have him discarded somehow.

This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!
