Dream, Arrogance, Great Image, Political Bribes... Multiplayer Combo Question

EEs played in this order in a Multiplayer setting:
1. Dream - U+ - Patriarchs - Holder may interrupt the battle, draw three cards and play the next enhancement.
2. Arrogance - R - Patriarchs - Holder may play as many evil enhancements as desired. Initiative passes when holder is done playing enhancements.
3. Great Image - R - Prophets - All opponents' Heroes in play that are not in the Field of Battle at end of this battle must be discarded.
4. Political Bribes - R - Kings - Each opponent must either skip next draw phase or make no rescue attempt that turn.
or
4. Escape - C - Angel Wars - Interrupt the battle and return your Evil Character to your hand.
Do they work like this?
Dream gives the initiative assuming capture/conversion/discard/removal etc..
Arrogance prevents initiative from passing
Great Image discards everyone not in battle
Political Bribes says that if any opponent including the present opponent makes or continues a rescue attempt they don't get to draw cards next turn?
Assuming rescue attempt is given up and they retreat, does that mean they aren't in battle and are therefore discarded also? If rescue attempt is maintained, no opponent can draw three cards next turn?
or
Escape removes evil character preventing any good banding before Great Image takes affect? Assuming escape is played, one lost soul is gotten.

Great Image would not discard the hero(es) in battle because the withdrawing signals the end of the battle and chooses targets for discard at that time, not after they are back in territory.
Political Bribes doesn't work like that. It doesn't affect the current rescue at all (in terms of the special ability), it only affects each opponent's next turn. On that next turn they can either draw OR attempt a rescue.
In your scenario for Escape, yes that would end the battle and cause Great Image to take effect, but as said above, it would not discard any heroes in battle.

Thank you... that was one of the three cards of crimson that we've questioned... Christians Suing each other and the choose your opponent card were the other two.
Perhaps following that combo with Christians Suing Each Other instead of Political Bribes would keep my character and prevent a lost soul from being rescued?
Would that work?
Or is the rescue attempt resumed after the two heroes battle it out?
Christian Suing Another - R - Apostles - Holder interrupts the battle and chooses a Hero in play to fight the rescuing Hero. The loser is discarded.

No, it would not cancel the current rescue attempt, but if you had a hero that could kill the rescuing hero, then that would end the rescue attempt, kill of of their characters, and then make them skip drawing or a rescue attempt next turn.
