Dominants + CBI

When can you not play a dominant?
a.) if someone plays new beginning, since you have initiative to play a interrupt or negate card would you be able to play a dominant at that point?

If a enhancement can not be interrupted and you play it. Can someone try to interrupt the battle and remove all cards in battle from the game (Joseph in prison)?

Dominants don't interrupt, except for DoN, and that's pretty limited.  However, all dominants are CBN.

No. ANB can not be interrupted.

Nothing can be chained to the activation of A New Beginning. Since the ability ends both the battle and the turn before it resolves, it's considered to have "cannot be interrupted" status. It can be prevented or negated before it's played, but not negated or interrupted after.

wow, that makes A New Beginning more powerful then I originally thought. Thanks for taking the time to write an in-depth response :).

Is there any way to find out which cards are considered to have can not be interrupted status? I find this extremely annoying that the reg doesn't event mention that this card can not be interrupted... There must be an easier way to determine if a card is "considered to have CBI" status....

The only cards that cannot be interrupted in battle under normal circumstances are ones that say Cannot be Interrupted/Cannot be Negated, or cards that end the battle. Most end the battle cards say "Cannot be negated", but the two that don't (A New Beginning and Heavy Taxes) can both be prevented, but not interrupted. This is because once the battle is ended by a special ability, nothing else can happen during the battle.

What if they're ignored afterwards, would that somewhat work around or stop the abilities?

There is no "afterwards". They end the battle, and that's that. The game moves to battle resolution and then the discard phase. There are no enhancements you can play in battle after ANB or Heavy Taxes activate and resolve.

Sorry, I should have said a "cannot be negated" ability. I didn't mean to refer to something that ends the battle.

Do you have a specific example? I can't think of any CBN enhancements offhand that don't either end the battle specifically or cause the removal of the opposing character.

I came across a situation the other day and didn't really know how to handle it. It's similar to this but I'm having trouble remembering.

my character played an enhancement (although it wasn't a CBI enhancement) but the evil character made it CBI, the enhancement was Joseph in prison. I was losing the battle so I had initiative and played Joseph in Prison.

When I remember more, I'll post it.

At the moment a card is activated, it either does or does not have cannot-be-interrupted status, either on its own or conferred from another card (like your Evil Character).

Any card that cannot be interrupted, you cannot stop the effect of the card with any card played after it.  Joseph in Prison would interrupt other effects (say if a banded character had immunity, the immunity gets interrupted), and remove the cards as written, but it would not interrupt that Enhancement.

As far as CBN non-battle winners, green has at least 4.  Aaron's Rod, Benaiah Snatches a Spear, Search (Faith of our Fathers) & Abel's Sacrifice.  There are others, but this are ones I know off the top of my head.

Death of Unrighteous is one of several cards that cannot be interrupted by virtue of removing your OWN characters from battle.  The opponent does not get initiative because he is winning the battle.

However, in all of these cases, except for "end the battle" cards, you can play a Dominant or trigger an active Artifact or similar effect after the effect of the card is completed.  In terms of saving your character it may not do much, but you are still allowed, for example, to play Burial.

I appreciate everything you two are saying, it's clearing this up. I just wish I can remember what happened earlier this week.
