Dominant Rule in Teams

Okay, so the rule as I remember it states that between the team, you may only play a specific dominant once. So here's a few questions just checking about how that plays out.

My teammate has already played Guardian, and I rescue with Tola to draw a card, and sadly draw the Speed Bump lost soul, protecting souls because I have 11 cards in my hand. Can I "play" Guardian for no effect to decrease my hand size?

If I play SoG/NJ for no effect, completely forgetting that the speed bump lost soul is out, can my teammate use their SoG/NJ?

I'm pretty sure the answer to both questions is a resounding no. But what about this one (which I don't know if I've asked about before because I can't search...):

My teammate and I each have Judas' Plot out. One of our opponents play SoG/NJ, so we instead both. Can they play SoG/NJ again?

Still pretty sure it's no, but that just seems wicked sweet.

No, you can't play it for no effect. You can discard it for CoM or something though.

No. You played yours.

I'm too lazy to go look up and discussion about whether Judas' Plot undoes the playing of a card, but it's been answered before in the discussion about whether NJ will rescue a soul if you JP SOG.

Also, if you want to search, just use google. Insert site:www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards before your search term.

Judas' Plot does not undo the playing of a card, so NJ still works if you instead SoG (so everybody insteads NJ).

And I tried googling and couldn't find it.

In cases like this where there is no legal target, I think you can just pick the cards back up.  I agree that you can't play them again in your scenarios.

You're right that Judas Plot does not undo the "playing" of a card, it only insteads the ability.  The team rule states that your team can only "play" a dominant once so you can't play it a second time if it was insteaded by Judas Plot.

No you can't, especially not in tournaments.

I know there is a rule about that with Dominants but I'm not sure what circumstances qualify or if its ruled consistently.  Maybe it is only for slapjack situations where there becomes no legal target?

That is correct. If an opponent plays an Evil Dom like Burial or Falling Away when Lampstand is up, then they cannot pick it back up. However, if I play Burial at the same time as my opponent plays SoG (say, immediately following a draw), and we both target the same LS, then whoever's dom doesn't work can be picked back up.
