Wow I started the post and I was pleasently suprised to see a poll added to it when I woke up this morning:)

My vote is SoG, NJ, AotL, Guardian, Grapes, CM, Mayhem.  If I'm running a deck that uses a temple I'll probably replace Guardian with Lampstand and throw in FA however.

If some knew something about what the future holds they might be inclined to include certain dominants that would otherwise make them troll like.  ;)

Have you been on this forum? 10% is a very low estimate.

The thing I really like about this rule is deciding what the other players aren't using.  Think about it this way:  Who in their right mind is going to pick Guardian over  Harvest Time, Grapes or Burial?  Probably nobody, so Falling Away is a great one to have, because there is no way it will be stopped.  But, the question is, is Falling Away better than a Grapes or Mayhem or something else to actually include it?

Ah. . . I love mind games!

And there is no way to stop/get rid of Lampstand?

The standard 5 plus Burial and FA.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

My standard 5 is SoG/AotL/CM/DoN/Grapes.  Which 5 do you mean?

And just for the record we are holding steady at around 10% trolls (with 3 out of 32)

Depending on the type of deck, it is possible (even if extremely unlikely) that I would cut SoG (due to heavy defense or something).  But I will never ever, unless some future ridiculous counters are printed and used, cut CM from a deck, whether offensive or defensive.

So you'd cut an auto rescue for a card that can be insteaded by Herod's Temple?

Absolutely.  If I am using a slow defensive deck, I can't afford to have Sog or NJ sitting in my hand all game not being used.  I need those slots for EEs.  Plus, if my win condition can get 3, then it should be able to get 4.  Now that you can only rescue souls in an opponent's LoB, that makes the decision even easier.

That is what I did in my 56 card WS deck last year, and I never once regretted it.

After having a week to toy around with the dominants, what are people thinking now? I'm really curious how many people think cutting New Jerusalem is really a good idea. In the coin flip meta we have, is cutting an auto-rescue really a good idea? I remain absolutely unconvinced that it is, but do people have strong arguments why it's a good idea? I think Lampstand is going to be a much more prominent card in the meta than it would have been otherwise, since it's easily splashed into virtually every top theme except Genesis. Cards like Casting Lots and Lying Unto to God are good, but how many people are really going to use them as anti-Lampstand cards to drop a Falling Away? Grey has shown itself as being relatively strong this year, so for anyone toying around with grey defenses, do you think Casting Lots will end up being worth the splash? Right now I'm trying to decide between Harvest Time, DoN, and FA as my last artifact (I doubt I'll ever build a deck without SoG, NJ, AotL, CM, Grapes, and Mayhem). With Lampstand in the deck, I'm forced to ask myself if FA is really worth the slot over Harvest Time since it's a speed deck as well. More and more I love this rule as it adds a whole new layer of strategy and guesswork to the game.

@ Chronic, This meta's not a coin flip meta compared to Pre-MRC. If anything this meta actually has skill.

Also as it stands I don't consider FA to be worth a slot at this point in time. DoN is far more useful.

Burial/two-liner isn't worth it any more. Honestly I'm loving the new rules more and more as I play. Especially rule #2, creates closer games.
