exact definition of "when you discard"

The search feature being down is frustrating because this has likely been answered before.

What is the exact definition of "when you discard" to trigger the second half of Protection of Jerusalem?
  Is it...
1. when you physically discard one of your Assyrians no matter who caused the discarding by SA.
      or
2. It has to be your special ability or dominant that initiated the discarding.

Redemption search feature doesn't seem to work for me.  Either that or it's reallllyyyyyy slow.

Ah, I just typed in 'discard' and it brought up 72 pages of results. I was wondering myself because I remember seeing other people post that it's also down in the past, but I've been using it for the past week, so maybe it's back up or something.

I stand corrected.  I resent my search and it was working.  Thanks for the info MKC.  Didn't realize that feature was fixed.  I don't know what happened the first time I searched....I was too impatient?

It has to be your Character discarding an Assyrian (by Game rule or Card effect)

It has to be your Character discarding an Assyrian (by Game rule or Card effect)

 +1   Within the ability, it states "When YOU discard an Assyrian....."
